# Social media image sizes

Every size below comes from the platform's own help or ads page, checked October 2026. On the page you can see each one to scale, copy an empty frame at the exact size into Figma, and check a picture you already have (it stays in your browser). https://baked.design/sizes/

## Questions
### What size is an Instagram post?
1080 pixels wide. Square is 1080 × 1080, portrait 1080 × 1350 (4:5) and the tallest, 1080 × 1440 (3:4). Stories and Reels are 1080 × 1920. Instagram shrinks anything wider than 1080.

### What size is a LinkedIn post image?
1200 × 628 for landscape, 1200 × 1200 for square, and 720 × 900 for vertical, which only shows on phones.

### What size should a link preview image be?
1200 × 630. Facebook, LinkedIn and others read it from the og:image tag. If you change the picture, give it a new file name: platforms keep the old one by its address.

### How do I keep words from being cropped off?
Keep them away from the edges and out of the corner where the profile photo sits. On a YouTube banner, only the middle 1235 × 338 shows everywhere. Pick a size above to see it drawn on the frame.

### How do I use these in Figma?
Pick a size and press Copy for Figma, then paste in Figma. You get an empty frame at the exact size, with the safe area drawn on it where the platform names one. If you checked a picture, it comes cropped to fit.

### Can I check a design from Figma?
Yes. Select the frame in Figma, press Shift-Command-C to copy it as a PNG (Shift-Ctrl-C on Windows), then paste on this page. Every size shows whether it fits and how it crops.

### Does my picture get uploaded?
No. When you check a picture, it stays in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
